Account & email

Deleting your account — what happens to your history?

You delete your account at the bottom of Account. Deletion is permanent: your memberships end, your personal data is removed and your linked email addresses are released. Download a copy of your data first.

What to do

  1. Download your data first: Account → "Download my data".

You get a copy of all your data as a ZIP file (GDPR art. 20). It cannot be done afterwards.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of Account and tap "Delete my account".

  3. Confirm by typing your email address and tap "Delete".

You receive a confirmation email once the account is deleted.

What happens to your data

Your memberships end and your personal data is removed. The association's attendance and payment history is kept for bookkeeping (Swedish law requires seven years), but is disconnected from you and stripped of personal details.

Posts, comments and chat messages you wrote become anonymous instead of being deleted — the conversations stay readable for the association, without your name.

Your linked email addresses are removed and become available again, and your guardian connections end.

If the account cannot be deleted

Membly refuses to delete an account that is the last administrator of an association ("Appoint another admin first"), that still owns an association ("Transfer ownership first"), or that is the only guardian of a child under 13 — connect another guardian to the child first.
