Importing a member list
You import members from a CSV or Excel file under Members → Import. Membly matches the columns automatically against your association's member fields, and you preview everything before anything is saved.
What to do
Download the template under Members → Import.
The template follows exactly the member fields your association has enabled — name and email always, the rest according to Settings → Member fields.
Fill in the file, or export from your old system.
Guardians go in the Guardian 1/2 columns on the child's row — never as rows of their own. Dates of birth are written YYYY-MM-DD or as a 4-digit year.
Upload the file and check the preview.
You can edit rows inline, and a column matching a disabled field offers "Enable field" instead of being skipped silently.
Confirm — and download the result ledger.
The result shows exactly what happened to every row (Added, Reactivated, Already a member, Duplicate, Failed) and can be saved as a CSV.
Large lists
Max 500 valid rows per file — split a large list into files of 200–250 rows and import one at a time. Leave "Send welcome emails" off during the import, and send the welcomes in bulk afterwards: the Invited tab → "Send to all not joined". Anyone who already joined is skipped and nothing is sent twice.
Safe to re-run
It is always safe to run the same file again: active members are skipped and previously removed members are reactivated rather than duplicated. To correct details on existing members with a fixed file, switch on "Update existing members" on the review step — membership type, roles, groups and guardians are never changed by an update.
