For administrators

Sending an announcement to members

Open Announcements and choose New announcement. You write the message, choose who should receive it and send.

How to do it

  1. Open Announcements from the menu.

  2. Choose New announcement.

  3. Write a subject and a message.

  4. Choose the recipients.

All members, a selection by membership type, or individual members you pick from the list.

  5. Review the recipient list and send.

Choosing recipients

You can send to everyone, to one or more membership types, or to individual members you select from the list.

Before sending you see a summary of the recipients. Note that only active members receive the announcement — inactive ones are skipped at send time.

Announcement or feed?

Use an announcement when something has to reach people — the notice for the annual meeting, a reminder about the fee, a cancelled rehearsal. It arrives with the recipient rather than waiting for someone to open the app.

Use the feed for things that are good to know but not urgent — photos from last week’s concert, a report from the board. The feed is chronological, so nothing is hidden by an algorithm.

Who may send announcements

Administrators can always send. Leaders can send if you have enabled it — the toggle sits in the Announcements view and is off by default.

Past announcements

Every sent announcement is kept under Announcements with its date, status and recipient count. It is the easiest way to avoid sending the same reminder twice.
